Behind a great game by Mitchell Gallagher, who had one goal and two assists, the M2 North Carolina State University Wolfpack defeated the M2 Elon University Phoenix, 7-4.

Gallagher beat Brad Feldman with a shot 15:52 into the second period on the power play to make the score 5-3 M2 North Carolina State University. A roughing penalty on Connor Martin had put M2 North Carolina State University on the power play. Chris Wing assisted on the tally. Gallagher dished an assist on Sam Banasiewicz's goal that made the score 1-1 at 4:38 into the first period. He added another helper on Garrett Sunda's goal that made the score 3-2 M2 Elon University at 5:00 into the second period.

M2 Elon University's five penalties came back to haunt it, as the Phoenix let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

The Wolfpack's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M2 Elon University power plays. M2 North Carolina State University outdid its season average for goals scored. The Wolfpack have scored at the pace of 4.4 goals per game during the current campaign. With 61 shots on target during the contest, M2 North Carolina State University exceeded the 0.5 shots it averages per game this year.

M2 North Carolina State University also had goals scored by Will Biberdorf and Sean Blye, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for M2 North Carolina State University were Matthew Vallillo, who had one and Peter Hayman, who had two.

M2 Elon University put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.1 it averages per game. The Phoenix got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

M2 Elon University was led by Sam Sarath, who registered one goal and two assists. Sarath scored 2:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M2 Elon University. Others who scored for M2 Elon University included Griffin Wolno and Hayden Lowry, who each put in one.

The Wolfpack's Nick Kamaris stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. M2 North Carolina State University incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Feldman rejected 54 shots on goal for the Phoenix. M2 Elon University ended with 36 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors.
