Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Iowa State University Cyclones defeated the M1 Robert Morris Univ Illinois Eagles in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. M1 Robert Morris Univ Illinois got a shootout goal from Gavin Burbach. M1 Iowa State University's other shootout goal was scored by Scott Antonsen.
