Huge game by LaPointe boosts M1 Syracuse University over M1 Ithaca College, 13-0

The M1 Syracuse University Orange's John Ross LaPointe had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing two assists in his team's 13-0 win over the M1 Ithaca College Bombers.

LaPointe got on the scoresheet 12:58 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:40 into the second, at 8:24 into the second, and at 8:55 into the second.

M1 Syracuse University forced M1 Ithaca College's goalies to work all game long, totaling 61 shots and forcing 48 saves. Conor Friend made 25 stops and Sean Johnson-Sally made 23. The Orange's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three M1 Ithaca College power plays. M1 Syracuse University's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Orange gives up 2.5 goals on average per game. M1 Syracuse University bested its season scoring average. The Orange average 3.9 goals per game.

M1 Syracuse University also got points from Ben Silver, who also registered one goal and one assist and Benjamin King, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M1 Syracuse University included Tim Elie and Brendan Flanagan, who each put in two and Adam Ganley, Mitchell Lesueur, and David Nardoni, who scored one goal each. In addition, M1 Syracuse University received assists from Robert Amos, who had three and Eric Fitzgerald, Thomas DiPasquale, Alex Rajaniemi, and Will Gebbie, who contributed one each.

The Bombers struggled to put together a cohesive attack and finished with a mere 14 shots over the course of the game. However, M1 Ithaca College ripped more shots in the game than the 0.5 per game it averages. The Bombers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. M1 Ithaca College averages 2.4 goals per game. The Bombers' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to M1 Syracuse University's power play unit.

Jaime Ketchabaw recorded 14 saves for the Orange. M1 Syracuse University incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. M1 Ithaca College incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
