M1 Liberty University rolls over M1 Minot State University, 5-1

The M1 Liberty University Flames had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the M1 Minot State University Beavers.

M1 Liberty University's Matt Pinel was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Pinel managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.32 prior to the game.

The Flames were led by Cam Bakker, who registered one goal and one assist. Bakker scored on the power play 8:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Liberty University. M1 Liberty University had taken the advantage when M1 Minot State University's Mitchell Peeke got sent off for tripping. Luke Hannon picked up the assist.

The Flames forced the Beavers' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Riley Hengen made 20 stops and Connor Beauchamp made 12. M1 Liberty University stifled M1 Minot State University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

M1 Liberty University additionally got points from Hannon, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Ryley Egan, who also had one goal and one assist. M1 Liberty University also had goals scored by Bram Erickson and Robert Ward, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Liberty University came via Lindsay LeBlanc, who had two and Chase Harris, Grant Garvin, Luke Simon, and Danny Logan, who contributed one each.

The Beavers were held below their usual level of production. M1 Minot State University puts an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. By firing 30 shots on goal, the Beavers exceeded the 4.8 shots they average per game this year. M1 Minot State University's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Beavers average 2.5 goals allowed per game.

M1 Minot State University was led by Craig Fournier, who scored the team's only goal. Fournier scored 19:55 into the first period to make the score 3-1 M1 Liberty University. Cote Dickerson assisted on the tally.

The Flames incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Beavers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
