Breslin nets hat trick, leads M1 Ohio University to 7-4 win over M1 Liberty University

The M1 Liberty University Flames could not stop the M1 Ohio University Bobcats' Joey Breslin, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-4 win.

Breslin's first goal came 12:46 into the second period. He then added goals at 55 seconds into the third and at 13:17 into the third.

M1 Ohio University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Liberty University to score on any of its four power plays. The Bobcats surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, M1 Ohio University averages 4.1 goals per contest. The Bobcats' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. M1 Ohio University is averaging 1.3 goal against for the season. The 43 shots that the Bobcats put on net surpassed M1 Ohio University's average of 5.6 shots per game this season.

M1 Ohio University additionally got points from Tyler Pecka, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Matthew Hartman, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M1 Ohio University included Patrick Spellacy, Tom Whetsel, and Tyler Benson, who scored one goal each. In addition, M1 Ohio University received assists from Nathan De La Torre, who had one and Michael Harris, who had two.

Aaron Alkema made 31 saves for the Bobcats on 35 shots. M1 Ohio University incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Joshua Halpenny recorded 36 saves for M1 Liberty University.
