M1 Rochester College survives M1 Liberty University comeback, wins 2-1LaHaye Ice Center Fri, Jan 16, 2015 The M1 Liberty University Flames tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the M1 Rochester College Warriors held on for a 2-1 victory. M1 Rochester College made the score 2-0 on a goal by Jake Zarzycki at 5:22 in the third period, and M1 Liberty University got as close as 2-1 when Ryley Egan scored 12:59 into the third period. The Flames were stymied by the Warriors' netminder Zakk Olvin, who stopped 39 shots during the victory. Olvin certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.39 entering the contest. M1 Rochester College managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Warriors finished below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. M1 Rochester College put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 2.0 it averages per game. Matt Kadolph also scored for M1 Rochester College. In addition, M1 Rochester College received assists from Joshua Botimer, Christopher Williford, and Doug Lindensmith, who contributed one each. M1 Liberty University stifled the Warriors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Flames were held below their usual level of production. M1 Liberty University puts an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game. The Flames forced M1 Rochester College goalie Olvin to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. More assists for M1 Liberty University came via Grant Garvin and Cam Bakker, who each chipped in one. The Warriors registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. Joshua Halpenny made 28 saves for M1 Liberty University on 30 shots. The Flames incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
