Huge game by LeBlanc boosts M1 Liberty University over M2 Virginia Tech University, 7-3

The M1 Liberty University Flames' Lindsay LeBlanc had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over M2 Virginia Tech University.

LeBlanc's tallies came on the power play at 2:19 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Liberty University and 16:35 into the second to make the score 7-2 M1 Liberty University.

M1 Liberty University was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The Flames had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. M1 Liberty University took advantage of M2 Virginia Tech University's penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities. The 46 shots that the Flames put on net surpassed M1 Liberty University's average of 31.2 shots per game this season.

M1 Liberty University also got points from Ben Hughes, who also registered one goal and one assist, Luke Hannon, who also tallied one goal and three assists, and Ryley Egan, who also racked up one goal and one assist. M1 Liberty University also had goals scored by Grant Garvin and Tyson Street, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Liberty University received assists from Luke Simon, who had two and Christian Garland and Ryan Kerr, who each chipped in one.

M2 Virginia Tech University's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. M2 Virginia Tech University surpassed its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. With 22 shots on target during the contest, M2 Virginia Tech University exceeded the 0.6 shots it averages per game this year.

Joshua Halpenny took the win and made eight saves before being replaced by Ian Harris who made 11 saves. M2 Virginia Tech University's starting goalie, Walker Detweiler, made 13 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Kirk Smith, who stopped 26 shots. M2 Virginia Tech University registered one goal on five power play opportunities. M2 Virginia Tech University ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Greg Kubrak was ejected from the game.
