The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.M1 Davenport University saw a three-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Panthers made the score 3-0 on a goal by Everett Thompson at 19:38 in the first period. M1 Liberty University evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Luke Simon at 4:32 in the third period. M1 Davenport University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Flames to score on any of their three power plays.
