Leamington rolls over Chatham, 5-2Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Thu, Feb 12, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Leamington Flyers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Chatham Maroons. Chris Scott was all over the ice for Leamington, as he had two goals in the win. Scott scored at 15:02 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Leamington and again while 19:50 into the second to make the score 4-2 Leamington. The Flyers' offense rang up 38 shots on Chatham's net. Leamington additionally got points from Ryan Shipley, who also registered one goal and one assist. Leamington also got a goal from Zack Guilbeault as well. More assists for Leamington came via Tyler Duarte, Cale Allen, Eric Henderson, Mitchell Amante, Kyle Quick, and Michael DiPietro, who contributed one each. The Maroons were held below their usual level of production. Chatham puts an average of 4.9 pucks into the net per game. The Maroons were led by Steven Beenackers, who tallied one goal and one assist. Beenackers scored on the power play 8:48 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Leamington. Chatham earned a power play opportunity when Blaine Bechard was put in the box for interference. Brayden Hopkins provided the assist. Connor Annett also scored for Chatham. In addition, Chatham received assists from Jared Dennis and Nate Pietens, who each chipped in one. DiPietro recorded 19 saves for Leamington. The Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jake Patterson made 33 saves for the Maroons on 37 shots. Chatham incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
