Chatham blows out Lambton Shores, 8-4

The Lambton Shores Predators had trouble finding ways to stop the Chatham Maroons, which beat Predators, 8-4.

Chatham forced Lambton Shores' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 45 shots and forcing 37 saves. Andrew Harriman-Duke made 13 stops and Anthony Hurtubise made 24. The Maroons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Lambton Shores power plays. Chatham's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Maroons average 4.9 goals per contest. Chatham's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Maroons were helped by Steven Szekesy, who registered one goal and two assists. Szekesy scored 7:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chatham. Connor Doran assisted on the tally. Chatham additionally got points from Ian Faubert, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Brennan Feasey, who also racked up two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Chatham included Jared Dennis, Nate Pietens, Brayden Hopkins, and Mark Fratarcangelli, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Connor McKinnon, Connor Annett, Gus Ford, Levi Tetrault, Bo Bessette, Steven Beenackers, and Michael Levesque, who each chipped in one.

The Predators kept Chatham's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bessette made 38 saves on 42 shots.

Lambton Shores was helped by Sean Ross, who had three goals. Lambton Shores also got points from Colin Burns, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Franco Sproviero, who had two, Andrew Kim, who had three, and Brett Corrigan and Gino Mini, who contributed one each.

The Maroons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Predators incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
