Tyler Duarte gave the Leamington Flyers a 4-3 (OT) victory over the St. Thomas Stars when he scored 4:51 into the extra period. Leamington came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Flyers was down 3-1 after a power play goal by St. Thomas' Brett Van Dusen at 7:47 in the third period. Leamington knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Mitchell Amante at 15:52 in the third period. The Flyers forced the Stars goalie Brendan Polasek to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Kyle Perkowski also scored for Leamington. More assists for Leamington came via Kyle Quick, who had two and Blaine Bechard, Jacob McGhee, Alex Friesen, and Chris Scott, who each chipped in one. St. Thomas was led by Ryan Valentini, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Valentini scored the first of his two goals at 16:19 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jordan Babb picked up the assist. Valentini's next tally made the score 2-1 St. Thomas with 46 seconds left in the second period. Jay Dekker assisted on the tally. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from James Newland, who had one. Michael Barrett made 19 saves for Leamington on 22 shots. The Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Stars' Polasek stopped 39 shots out of the 43 that he faced. St. Thomas incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
