London rides Tugwell to victory over Lambton Shores, 7-1

Justin Tugwell stood on his head and made 35 saves to lead the London Nationals to a 7-1 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators.

London put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Lambton Shores to score on any of its three power plays. The Nationals kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Anthony Hurtubise made 31 saves on 38 shots. London outdid its season average for goals scored. The Nationals average 3.4 goals per game.

London was led by Drew Worrad, who tallied two goals and three assists. Worrad scored the first of his two goals at 12:43 into the second period to make the score 4-0 London. Tugwell provided the assist. Worrad's next tally made the score 6-1 London with 14:51 left in the third period. Derek Todosichuk assisted on the tally. London additionally got points from Todosichuk, who also registered one goal and three assists and Austin Kemp, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for London included Anthony Kotsovos, Kevin Madden, and Rai Di Loreto, who each put in one. In addition, London received assists from Callum Ruddock, Justin Murray, Scott Goodman, and Nick Suzuki AMP, who contributed one each.

Lambton Shores managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Predators ended up below its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. Lambton Shores' offense operated below its season average. The Predators put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. The Nationals were unable to stop Lambton Shores from sending pucks towards the net, and the Predators eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

London incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
