Stratford survives penalties, beats Listowel, 2-0

The Stratford Cullitons' penalty kill was superb, as Stratford survived multiple penalties to beat the Listowel Cyclones, 2-0.

The Cullitons were led by Jared Nash, who tallied one goal. Nash scored 18:39 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Stratford. Deven Kropf assisted on the tally.

Stratford's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Listowel power plays. The Cullitons could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Stratford puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Cullitons' defensive play was more effective than usual against Listowel. Stratford averages 2.6 goals allowed per game.

Nathan Templeman also scored for Stratford. More assists for Stratford came via Hayden Broomhead and Zach Van Louwe, who contributed one each.

The Cyclones stifled the Cullitons' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Listowel was held below its usual level of production. The Cyclones average 2.7 goals per game.

Nicholas Caldwell recorded 23 saves for Stratford. The Cullitons totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play. Stratford ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Broomhead was ejected from the game. Tyler Fassl made 27 saves for Listowel on 29 shots. The Cyclones ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For Listowel, Keaton Willis was ejected from the game.
