Leamington downs LaSalle, 4-1

Zack Guilbeault registered two points to lead the Leamington Flyers to a 4-1 victory over the LaSalle Vipers.

Leamington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Flyers kept LaSalle's goalie busy throughout the game, and Eli Billing made 34 saves on 38 shots.

Leamington also got points from Mitchell Amante, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Leamington included Alex Friesen and Kyle Quick, who scored one goal each. More assists for Leamington came via Eric Shaw, who had two and Cale Allen, Matthew Opblinger, and Chris Scott, who each chipped in one.

The Vipers were held below their usual level of production. LaSalle puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game.

The Vipers were led by Nikko Sablone, who scored the team's only goal. Sablone scored 2:24 into the second period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle. Tyler Russell assisted on the tally.

Michael Barrett rejected 22 shots on goal for Leamington. The Flyers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. LaSalle incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
