J.P. Grineau netted a hat trick to lead the Leamington Flyers over the Strathroy Rockets, 6-3. Grineau notched his first tally 3:35 into the third period. He then added goals at 18:31 into the third and at 19:03 into the third.Leamington's penalty kill excelled, as the Flyers gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:21 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Leamington racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 13 minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. The Flyers had been averaging 26.0 minutes in penalties per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals. Leamington also got points from Kyle Perkowski, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Leamington included Eric Henderson and Thomas Virban, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were Kyle Quick, who had two and Jacob McGhee, Blake Rutckyj, Colin Moore, Mitchell Amante, and Chris Scott, who contributed one each. The Flyers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Blaine Bechard was ejected from the game. Mat Ouellet recorded 24 saves for Strathroy. For the Rockets, Lucas Latina was ejected from the game.
