M3-Oakland University survived a determined comeback attempt by M3-Michigan-Flint University of on the way to a 5-3 win.

M3-Oakland University made the score 5-2 on a goal by Robert Lauro at 10:16 in the third period, and M3-Michigan-Flint University of got as close as 5-3 when Brandyn Matte scored 19:28 into the third period.
