M1 Midland University vanquishes M2 Waldorf College in shootout, 3-2 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as M1 Midland University defeated M2 Waldorf College in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO).

The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout. In addition to the clincher, M1 Midland University got a shootout goal from Sam Turner.

M1 Midland University overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. M1 Midland University trailed 2-0 after a goal by M2 Waldorf College's Jacob Bales at 5:53 in the first period. M1 Midland University tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Rob Donovan at 18:23 in the third period.

M1 Midland University put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 16.6 it averages per game.

Ben Henry also scored for M1 Midland University. More assists for M1 Midland University came via Kyle Whipple and Blair Seitz, who each chipped in one.

M2 Waldorf College stifled M1 Midland University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 30 shots on target during the contest, M2 Waldorf College exceeded the 7.7 shots it averages per game this year.

M2 Waldorf College also got a goal from Reed Loucks as well. In addition, M2 Waldorf College received assists from Lane Sanderson, Drew Soderberg, and Dalton Kaake, who contributed one each.

Matt Goedeke recorded 28 saves for M1 Midland University. M1 Midland University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ronald Paulson rejected 29 shots on goal for M2 Waldorf College. M2 Waldorf College incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
