Melbourne Ice uses big second period to beat Adelaide Adrenaline, 7-0

Melbourne Ice scored four goals in the second period to pull away from Adelaide Adrenaline and clinch a 7-0 win.

Shanley Peters spearheaded the defensive effort for Melbourne Ice, as she did not allow a puck past him and made 27 saves for the shutout. Peters managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 1.42 prior to the game.

Christine Bestland was all over the ice for Melbourne Ice, as she tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Bestland scored the first of her two goals at 14:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Melbourne Ice. Bestland's next tally made the score 3-0 Melbourne Ice with 7:35 left in the second period. Melbourne Ice was on a disadvantage when Alivia Del Basso went off the ice for tripping.
