Sydney Sirens boosted by Jefferies' play in net, beats Adelaide Adrenaline 2-1

Michala Jefferies stood on her head and made 31 saves to lead Sydney Sirens to a 2-1 victory over Adelaide Adrenaline.

Sydney Sirens was led by Kath McOnie, who finished with one goal. McOnie scored 14:28 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Sydney Sirens.

With 21 shots on target during the contest, Sydney Sirens exceeded the 3.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Sydney Sirens also got a goal from Krista Korhonen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Sydney Sirens were Brittany McCabe, who had one.

Adelaide Adrenaline managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Adelaide Adrenaline ended up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game. Sydney Sirens was unable to stop Adelaide Adrenaline from sending pucks towards the net, and Adelaide Adrenaline eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Adelaide Adrenaline was led by Bethanie Kavanagh, who scored the team's only goal. Kavanagh scored on the power play 7:51 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Adelaide Adrenaline had gotten the advantage when Sydney Sirens' Andrea Lim was sent off for delay of game. Natasha Farrier provided the assist.

Sydney Sirens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Shannon Giebelhaus made 19 saves for Adelaide Adrenaline on 21 shots. Adelaide Adrenaline registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
