Adelaide Adrenaline vanquishes Melbourne Ice in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Adelaide Adrenaline defeated Melbourne Ice in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout.

Adelaide Adrenaline saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Adelaide Adrenaline made the score 3-1 on a goal by Natasha Farrier at 8:36 in the third period. Melbourne Ice evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Alivia Del Basso at 16:58 in the third period.

Adelaide Adrenaline put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 2.6 it averages per game.

Adelaide Adrenaline additionally got points from Bethanie Kavanagh, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Adelaide Adrenaline were Kelly Harris and Kirsty Venus, who contributed one each.

Melbourne Ice excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Melbourne Ice's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game.
