M1 Niagara University blows out M1 John Carroll University, 5-1Gilmour Academy Fri, Nov 14, 2014 The M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the M1 John Carroll University Blue Streaks. M1 Niagara University was led by goalie Mike Parda, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Parda certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.43 entering the contest. The Purple Eagles were paced by Andrew Mitch, who had one goal. Mitch scored 7:54 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Niagara University. Kody Helbig assisted on the tally. M1 Niagara University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three M1 John Carroll University power plays. With 40 shots on target during the contest, the Purple Eagles exceeded the 1.5 shot they average per game this year.
