Casper Coyotes falls to Salt Lake City Moose in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Salt Lake City Moose pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over Casper Coyotes on a clutch goal by Cole Corson.

Corson had two goals to lead Salt Lake City Moose to victory. Corson's tallies came at 15:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 4:59 into the fifth to make the score 5-4 Salt Lake City Moose.

Salt Lake City Moose forced Casper Coyotes' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 40 shots and forcing 35 saves. Rikard Landfeldt made 21 stops and Evan Jamar made 14.

Salt Lake City Moose also got points from Brett Myer, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Salt Lake City Moose included Ross Gann and Ryan Solomon, who scored one goal each. More assists for Salt Lake City Moose came via Erik Ahlen, Lindros Beard, Dan Veselovsky, Jurijs Moiseicenko, Brett Howard, Devan Beck, and Dmitry Kuznetsov, who each chipped in one.

Casper Coyotes' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Salt Lake City Moose power plays. Salt Lake City Moose was unable to stop Casper Coyotes from sending pucks towards the net, and Casper Coyotes eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Casper Coyotes got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

Casper Coyotes was helped by Austin Parrish, who had two goals. Parrish scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:39 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Salt Lake City Moose. Casper Coyotes earned a power play opportunity when Solomon was put in the box for head contact. Eric Andersson assisted on the tally. Parrish's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 2:25 left in the third period. Casper Coyotes had gained a power play chance when Patrick OBryan was whistled for kneeing. Erik Stenbacka picked up the assist. Casper Coyotes additionally got points from Stenbacka, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Andersson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Casper Coyotes received assists from Jordan Klimovsky, Troy Saunders, Viktor Thim, and Ilya Sakhibgareev, who contributed one each.

Salt Lake City Moose's Brad Robertson stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Salt Lake City Moose incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Casper Coyotes incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
