Osborne leads Fresno Monsters over San Diego, 7-4

Conner Osborne was all over the ice for Fresno Monsters, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Fresno Monsters' 7-4 win over San Diego.

Osborne beat Brody Cavataio with a shot 19:26 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Fresno Monsters. Michael Freeman provided the assist. Osborne dished an assist on Dan Fitzgerald's goal that made the score 1-1 at 2:13 into the second period. He added another helper on Owen Sikich's goal that made the score 5-4 Fresno Monsters at 14:33 into the third period.

Fresno Monsters forced San Diego goalie Cavataio to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Fresno Monsters' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Fresno Monsters also got points from Fitzgerald, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mike Nolan, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Sikich, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Fresno Monsters included Mark Shroyer, Kyle Jelinski, and Conner Hyden, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno Monsters were Jacob Haynes, Evan Ingram, and Austin Browning, who each chipped in one.

San Diego's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and two majors for 34 minutes in penalty time. San Diego surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Fresno Monsters was unable to stop San Diego from sending pucks towards the net, and San Diego eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

San Diego was helped by Toni Haikarainen, who had one goal. Haikarainen scored 12:27 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Cameron Brantz picked up the assist. San Diego additionally got points from Tyler Kubara, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. San Diego also had goals scored by Zev Glass and Andrew Frojelin, who each put in one. In addition, San Diego received assists from Cameron Todd, who had two and Will Parker, Sebastian Gruhler, Mike Caruso, and Kastle Birch, who contributed one each.

Fresno Monsters' Nathan Churchill stopped 29 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Fresno Monsters totaled 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Brody Cavataio made 33 saves for San Diego on 39 shots. San Diego registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
