El Paso Rhinos blows out Tulsa Jr. Oilers, 10-2

El Paso Rhinos had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-2 win over Tulsa Jr. Oilers.

John Bowen had one goal and two assists to lead El Paso Rhinos. Bowen scored 17:42 into the first period to make the score 3-0 El Paso Rhinos. Sebastian Borg picked up the assist.

El Paso Rhinos' penalty kill excelled, as El Paso Rhinos gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

El Paso Rhinos forced Tulsa Jr. Oilers' goalies to work in net, finishing with 68 shots and forcing 58 saves. Richard Albrecht made 30 stops and Tyler Jansen made 28. El Paso Rhinos outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, El Paso Rhinos averages 5.9 goals per contest. El Paso Rhinos cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. El Paso Rhinos was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

El Paso Rhinos additionally got points from Bryton Tomko, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Borg, who also registered two goals and two assists, and Jiri Pestuka, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. El Paso Rhinos also had goals scored by Angel Sanca, David Brancik, Jesse Esposito, Jonah Pearson, and Kendal Craig, who scored one goal each. More assists for El Paso Rhinos came via Dominique Pozzi, Marek Langhammer, John Gilbert, and Gavin Abbott, who each chipped in one.

Tulsa Jr. Oilers did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 12 saves.

Tulsa Jr. Oilers was helped by Hunter Best, who tallied two goals. Best scored the first of his two goals at 7:24 into the second period to make the score 4-1 El Paso Rhinos. Ivan Bukshevannyy assisted on the tally. Best's next tally made the score 4-2 El Paso Rhinos with 10:04 left in the second period. Tulsa Jr. Oilers had taken the advantage when El Paso Rhinos' Robert Horak got sent off for interference. Sam Hiserodt picked up the assist. In addition, Tulsa Jr. Oilers received assists from Andrew Wyrrick, who had one.

Adam Vay rejected 12 shots on goal for El Paso Rhinos. Tulsa Jr. Oilers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
