Springfield Express downs Dallas Snipers in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Springfield Express pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over Dallas Snipers on a clutch goal by Linus Dahlberg.

Dahlberg was all over the ice for Springfield Express, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Dahlberg scored the first of his two goals at 14:01 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Springfield Express. Vito DeVito provided the assist. Dahlberg's next tally made the score 5-4 Springfield Express with 15:01 left in overtime. Tobias Sjolund assisted on the tally.

Springfield Express' offense rang up 51 shots on Dallas Snipers' net.

Springfield Express also got points from Sjolund, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Josh Cook, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Springfield Express were Seth Ensor, who had two and Cameron Mikkelsen and Philip Babb, who each chipped in one.

Dallas Snipers forced Springfield Express goalie Babb to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Dallas Snipers was helped by Alexander Yunanov, who registered two goals. Yunanov scored the first of his two goals at 15:22 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Springfield Express. Yunanov's next tally made the score 4-3 Dallas Snipers with 17:47 left in the third period. Yevgeni Nikolaev picked up the assist. Dallas Snipers additionally got points from Justin Becton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Carl Sandsten, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Dallas Snipers came via Yuri Kobzyev and Pavol Kotzman, who contributed one each.

Babb rejected 30 shots on goal for Springfield Express. Springfield Express totaled 53 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. For Springfield Express, Eric Hewitt was ejected from the game. Sander Berg recorded 46 saves for Dallas Snipers. Dallas Snipers totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
