Power leads Idaho Junior Steelheads over Seattle Totems, 9-3

Idaho Junior Steelheads' Macky Power had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 9-3 win over Seattle Totems.

Power found the back of the net on the power play 8:31 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Idaho Junior Steelheads and again while 12:17 into the second to make the score 4-2 Idaho Junior Steelheads.

Idaho Junior Steelheads forced Seattle Totems goalie Alek Lazarski to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots. Idaho Junior Steelheads outdid its season average for goals scored. Idaho Junior Steelheads has scored at the pace of 6.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Idaho Junior Steelheads additionally got points from Jack York, who also had one goal and one assist, Oleg Losev, who also registered one goal and one assist, Victor Carlsson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Kyle TenEyck, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Idaho Junior Steelheads included Yegor Ivanov, Nikita Zgirskis, and Ryan Cutter, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Idaho Junior Steelheads were Kyle Smith, who had two and Hunter Cyr, Ondrej Valo, Kyle Kruenegel, Robert Neuwirth, Hunter Lester, Dimitris Jones, and Zach Walden, who contributed one each.

Seattle Totems was led by Reinis Vitolins, who grabbed two goals. Vitolins scored the first of his two goals at 3:53 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Lukas Vendis provided the assist. Vitolins' next tally made the score 4-3 Idaho Junior Steelheads with 19:15 left in the third period. Vendis picked up the assist. Seattle Totems also got a goal from Adam Alfoldy as well. More assists for Seattle Totems came via Patryk Fiedorek and Jerry Yang, who each chipped in one.

Tyler Hough rejected 19 shots on goal for Idaho Junior Steelheads. Idaho Junior Steelheads incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lazarski recorded 49 saves for Seattle Totems. Seattle Totems totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
