Ogden Mustangs takes care of Cheyenne Stampede early, wins 9-3

Ogden Mustangs jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Cheyenne Stampede, 9-3.

Martin Hallin had two goals and one assist to lead Ogden Mustangs. Hallin scored the first of his two goals at 9:18 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ogden Mustangs. Ilya Bobko picked up the assist. Hallin's next tally made the score 6-2 Ogden Mustangs with 13:48 left in the third period. Schuyler Seyfert provided the assist.

Ogden Mustangs forced Cheyenne Stampede's goalies to work all game long, ripping 59 shots and forcing 50 saves. Corey Foster made 36 stops and Quin Gillespie made 14. Ogden Mustangs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Ogden Mustangs averages 4.4 goals per game.

Ogden Mustangs additionally got points from George Babos, who also had one goal and two assists, Andreas Zollner, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Corey Iapalucci, who also registered one goal and one assist, Seyfert, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Caleb Pola, who also had one goal and two assists. Ogden Mustangs also got a goal from Jon Mencer as well. More assists for Ogden Mustangs came via Charlie Reed, who had two and Spencer Norcott, Clay Cross, and Liam Charnock, who each chipped in one.

Cheyenne Stampede forced Ogden Mustangs goalie Troy Turpin to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Cheyenne Stampede was led by Jack Speer, who finished with two goals. Speer scored the first of his two goals at 10:38 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Ogden Mustangs. Max Legere picked up the assist. Speer's next tally made the score 7-3 Ogden Mustangs with 10:02 left in the third period. Cheyenne Stampede had taken the advantage when Ogden Mustangs' Reed got sent off for hooking. Sebastian Crystal assisted on the tally. Nolan Kinney also scored for Cheyenne Stampede. In addition, Cheyenne Stampede received assists from Heath Lantz, Cory Hurtubise, and Michael Ballard, who contributed one each.

Troy Turpin made 31 saves for Ogden Mustangs on 34 shots. Ogden Mustangs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Cheyenne Stampede incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
