Colorado RoughRiders outlasts Colorado Evolution, 3-2

Colorado RoughRiders and Colorado Evolution were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Colorado RoughRiders made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Colorado RoughRiders gained the winning advantage on a goal by Casey Riccatone 19:55 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Colorado RoughRiders was paced by Riccatone, who registered one goal.

In the losing effort, Colorado Evolution was led by Dmitrijs Komarnickis, who had two goals. Komarnickis scored the first of his two goals at 15:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ruslan Zabulonov assisted on the tally. Komarnickis' next tally made the score 2-1 Colorado Evolution with 15:48 left in the second period. Jon Dewerd picked up the assist.

Colorado RoughRiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Colorado Evolution power plays. Colorado RoughRiders forced Colorado Evolution goalie Sergii Pysarenko to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

Colorado RoughRiders also had goals scored by Nick Kukuris and Aidan Doughty, who each put in one. In addition, Colorado RoughRiders received assists from Nate Werhane, Walker Harris, Devon Pilkington, Hunter Behrens, Martin Bakula, and Thayne Trumbull, who each chipped in one.

Other players who recorded assists for Colorado Evolution were Nikita Sokov, who had two.

Colorado RoughRiders' Josh Aycock stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Colorado RoughRiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Pysarenko rejected 50 shots on goal for Colorado Evolution. Colorado Evolution ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
