M1 Lebanon Valley College outlasts M1 Eastern Michigan University, 6-4

The M1 Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen and the M1 Eastern Michigan University Eagles were evenly matched throughout their contest, but M1 Lebanon Valley College made the most of its opportunities and won, 6-4.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Zachary McKown's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Flying Dutchmen were sparked by McKown, who had one goal. McKown scored 5:44 into the third period to make the score 5-4 M1 Lebanon Valley College. Nick Schultz assisted on the tally.

In a losing effort, M1 Eastern Michigan University was led by Jordan Roemer, who racked up two goals. Roemer scored the first of his two goals at 8:31 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Eastern Michigan University. Zachary Willis provided the assist. Roemer's next tally made the score 4-2 M1 Eastern Michigan University with 7:58 left in the second period. The Eagles had gained a power play chance when Russ Armbruster was whistled for elbowing. Bryan Kozlowski assisted on the tally.

M1 Lebanon Valley College outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Flying Dutchmen average 3.6 goals per contest. By firing 38 shots on goal, M1 Lebanon Valley College exceeded the 9.1 shots it averages per game this year.

M1 Lebanon Valley College also had goals scored by Paul Hefferin, Louie Berube, Dylan Kapp, Brennan Thompson, and Justin Boyd, who scored one goal each. More assists for M1 Lebanon Valley College came via Matthew Reno, who had two and Gaige Vandezande, Joey Labonte, Danny Willey, Cody Pessig, and Andy Thurby, who contributed one each.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. The 31 shots that M1 Eastern Michigan University put on net surpassed the Eagles' average of 3.1 shots per game this season.

M1 Eastern Michigan University also got points from Anthony Stankiewicz, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M1 Eastern Michigan University also got a goal from Kory Sosnowski as well. In addition, M1 Eastern Michigan University received assists from Jon Farkas and James Peplinski, who each chipped in one.

The Flying Dutchmen took out Chase Wilson after he had made 16 saves and installed Brenden Manquen in goal, where he finished with 11 saves and the win. M1 Lebanon Valley College incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Joe Moza made 32 saves for M1 Eastern Michigan University on 37 shots. The Eagles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
