M1 Villanova University erases deficit to stun M2 Army, 3-2

The M1 Villanova University Wildcats rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over M2 Army.

M1 Villanova University never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Wildcats was down 2-0 after a goal by M2 Army's Cory Miller at 2:57 in the second period. M1 Villanova University knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Harry Moore at 14:58 in the third period. The Wildcats netted the game winner at 17:13 in the third period on a goal by Moore.

M1 Villanova University pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

The Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The defensemen of M1 Villanova University were also effective in M2 Army's zone, and came away with two goals. The Wildcats' offense was clicking better than usual and put 43 shots on goal during the game, better than the 0.4 shots per game they average.

M1 Villanova University was helped by Jack Skaggs, who grabbed one goal. Michael Miniconzi also scored for M1 Villanova University. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Villanova University were Nicholas Schultz, who had two and Troy Donahue and Michael Harper, who contributed one each.

M2 Army could not produce up to its normal offensive output. M2 Army puts an average of 5.5 pucks into the net per game. By firing 30 shots on goal, M2 Army exceeded the 0.6 shots it averages per game this year. Penalties took their toll on M2 Army, as its penalty kill unit let in two power play goals.

M2 Army also got points from Michael St Denis, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, M2 Army received assists from Alex Voronovich, who had one.

Harper recorded 28 saves for the Wildcats. Robert Fenton made 40 saves for M2 Army on 43 shots. M2 Army incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
