Smoot leads Colorado Eagles over Colorado Evolution, 8-2

Scott Smoot had one goal and three assists to lead Colorado Eagles to an 8-2 victory over Colorado Evolution.

Smoot got on the board by slotting home a goal 6:38 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Levi Weber assisted on the tally. Smoot dished an assist on MacGregor Haddon's goal that made the score 1-0 Colorado Eagles at 1:34 into the first period. He then added assists on Weber's goal at 16:26 into the second and on Haddon's goal at 18:09 into the third.

Colorado Eagles kept Colorado Evolution's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hunter Marsh made 50 saves on 58 shots. Colorado Eagles bested its season scoring average. This season, Colorado Eagles averages 4.2 goals per contest.

Colorado Eagles also got points from Haddon, who also had two goals and two assists and Weber, who also racked up two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Colorado Eagles included RJ Haenze, Cade Warner, and Nick Davidson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Colorado Eagles came via Tanner Ulland, who had three and Tyler Weber, Keagan Jenkins, John Cowley, Trenton Hines, and Quinn Wold, who contributed one each.

Colorado Evolution was helped by Dmitrijs Komarnickis, who registered one goal. Komarnickis scored on the power play 1:37 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Colorado Evolution. Colorado Evolution had gained a power play chance when Ben Gundry was whistled for checking from behind. Yaroslav Pomortsev picked up the assist. Colorado Evolution also got a goal from Nick Rems as well. In addition, Colorado Evolution received assists from Christopher Miller, Joshua Malone, and Ruslan Zabulonov, who each chipped in one.

Quinn Wold made 26 saves for Colorado Eagles on 28 shots. Colorado Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Colorado Evolution incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
