Valencia Flyers rips Long Beach Bombers, 9-3

Valencia Flyers had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-3 win over Long Beach Bombers.

Valencia Flyers got the win on the strength of a great game by Jakob Kranabetter, who had one goal and two assists. Kranabetter scored 9:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Valencia Flyers. Niklas Giers picked up the assist.

Valencia Flyers forced Long Beach Bombers' goalies to work all game long, totaling 39 shots and forcing 30 saves. Dennis Tschudi made 13 stops and Kent Nusbaum made 17. Valencia Flyers outdid its season average for goals scored. Valencia Flyers has scored at the pace of 4.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Valencia Flyers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Valencia Flyers finished with 22 penalty minutes.

Valencia Flyers additionally got points from Blake Aguilar, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jared Waldman, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Valencia Flyers included Luc Whyte, who had two and Greg Figg, Dawson Keay, and Johan Sorkin, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Valencia Flyers were Tyler Lazarek, Eddie Cordero, Wil Barnett, Jason Hart, and Chase Thesman, who contributed one each and Bas Assaf and Evan Johnson, who each chipped in two.

Valencia Flyers was unable to stop Long Beach Bombers from sending pucks towards the net, and Long Beach Bombers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Team could not crack Valencia Flyers' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Long Beach Bombers was led by Johan Beatty, who tallied one goal and one assist. Beatty scored on the power play 12:11 into the third period to make the score 7-2 Valencia Flyers. An interference penalty on Lazarek had put Long Beach Bombers on the power play. Erik Sandgren assisted on the tally. Long Beach Bombers also had goals scored by Charles Arsenescu and Khalil East, who scored one goal each. More assists for Long Beach Bombers came via Lukas Lindquist and Patrik Johansson, who contributed one each.

Silvan Delb recorded 28 saves for Valencia Flyers. Valencia Flyers registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Long Beach Bombers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
