Las Vegas Storm falls to Long Beach Bombers in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Long Beach Bombers pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over Las Vegas Storm on a clutch goal by Patrik Johansson.

Johansson had one goal and three assists to lead Long Beach Bombers. Johansson scored 24 seconds into overtime to make the score 5-4 Long Beach Bombers. Tomas Nemeth assisted on the tally.

Las Vegas Storm's power play was ineffective against Long Beach Bombers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Long Beach Bombers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Las Vegas Storm to score on any of its six power plays. Long Beach Bombers was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Long Beach Bombers additionally got points from Nemeth, who also tallied two goals and two assists. Others who scored for Long Beach Bombers included Chris Sudnicki and Carl Lyden, who scored one goal each. In addition, Long Beach Bombers received assists from Johan Beatty, who had two and Lukas Lindquist and Casper Faltskog, who each chipped in one.

Las Vegas Storm excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Long Beach Bombers was unable to stop Las Vegas Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Las Vegas Storm eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Las Vegas Storm was helped by Quinn Travis, who registered one goal. Travis scored 4:16 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jiri Ryyppo picked up the assist. Las Vegas Storm also got points from Kyle Pacheco, who also registered one goal and one assist. Las Vegas Storm also had goals scored by Arrigo Burgener and Nikita Larionov, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Las Vegas Storm were Felix Brunner, who had one.

Long Beach Bombers' Dennis Tschudi stopped 33 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Patrik Jokela rejected 24 shots on goal for Las Vegas Storm. Las Vegas Storm incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
