Colorado Eagles downs Ogden Mustangs, 5-2

Jackson Wallis finished with one point to lead Colorado Eagles to a 5-2 victory over Ogden Mustangs.

Colorado Eagles' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Ogden Mustangs power plays. Colorado Eagles' offense rang up 36 shots on Ogden Mustangs' net. Colorado Eagles outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Colorado Eagles averages 2.7 goals per contest.

Colorado Eagles also had goals scored by MacGregor Haddon, Brad Pershing, Cade Warner, and Nick Davidson, who each put in one. In addition, Colorado Eagles received assists from Scott Smoot, who had two, Ben Gundry, who had three, and Logan Libal, Nick Buchholtz, and Tyler Weber, who contributed one each.

Ogden Mustangs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Colorado Eagles to score on any of its five power plays. Colorado Eagles was unable to stop Ogden Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Ogden Mustangs eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Ogden Mustangs was helped by Edvin Johansson, who grabbed one goal. Johansson scored 9:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ogden Mustangs. Jon Mencer also scored for Ogden Mustangs. Other players who recorded assists for Ogden Mustangs were Ilya Bobko, who had one.

Quinn Wold recorded 36 saves for Colorado Eagles. Colorado Eagles ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Ogden Mustangs' Andreas Pettersson stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Ogden Mustangs ended with 36 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors.
