El Paso Rhinos wins tough contest against Springfield Express, 4-2

El Paso Rhinos and Springfield Express were evenly matched throughout their contest, but El Paso Rhinos made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Dominique Pozzi at 12:19 of the second period.

El Paso Rhinos was led by David Barbour, who registered one goal. Barbour scored 14:52 into the third period to make the score 3-1 El Paso Rhinos. Patrick Stancl assisted on the tally.

El Paso Rhinos kept Springfield Express' goalie busy throughout the game, and Oliver Eklund made 40 saves on 44 shots.

El Paso Rhinos also had goals scored by Gavin Abbott and Jiri Pestuka, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for El Paso Rhinos were Reinis Vitolins, Kendal Craig, and David Bures, who each chipped in one.

Springfield Express excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Springfield Express' offense operated below its season average. Springfield Express puts an average of 5.2 pucks into the net per game.

Springfield Express was helped by Seth Ensor, who racked up one goal. Ensor scored 8:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Quade Hamlin provided the assist. Eric Anderson also scored for Springfield Express. In addition, Springfield Express received assists from David Higgs, who had one and Vito DeVito, who had two.

El Paso Rhinos' Adam Vay stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. El Paso Rhinos incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Springfield Express incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
