Fresno Monsters holds on for 4-3 win against Long Beach Bombers

Fresno Monsters survived a determined comeback attempt by Long Beach Bombers on the way to a 4-3 win.

Fresno Monsters took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Long Beach Bombers storm back on a Patrik Johansson goal 9:38 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Mike Nolan had a great game for Fresno Monsters, netting two goals.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 9:23 into the first period. Seven fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Fresno Monsters' offense rang up 40 shots on Long Beach Bombers' net. Fresno Monsters struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 62 penalty minutes for three opposing power plays.

Others who scored for Fresno Monsters included Parker Olson and Patrick Meier, who scored one goal each. More assists for Fresno Monsters came via Mark Shroyer, who had two and Brantt Heble and Carter Dahl, who each chipped in one.

Long Beach Bombers found itself short handed often, totaling 69 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

Long Beach Bombers also had goals scored by Tomas Nemeth and Anton Rhose, who each put in one. In addition, Long Beach Bombers received assists from Michael Sjolin, who had two and Mikyal Anas, Johan Beatty, and Casper Faltskog, who contributed one each.

Nathan Churchill made 16 saves for Fresno Monsters on 19 shots. For Fresno Monsters, Evan Ingram was ejected from the game. Long Beach Bombers' Dennis Tschudi stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Team's Jack Kelly and Thurel Kast were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
