Whitefish Wolverines beats Lake Tahoe Blue 5-1 as Roe gets hat trick

Lake Tahoe Blue could not stop Whitefish Wolverines' Danny Roe, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-1 win.

Roe got on the scoresheet 13:34 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:13 into the first and at 4:33 into the third.

Whitefish Wolverines was led by goalie Joakim Hidestrand, who finished with 39 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Hidestrand will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.03.

Whitefish Wolverines excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Whitefish Wolverines' offense rang up 46 shots on Lake Tahoe Blue's net. Whitefish Wolverines found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Whitefish Wolverines has scored at the pace of 2.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Whitefish Wolverines got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

Whitefish Wolverines also had goals scored by Bryan Polmear and Josh Schur, who each put in one. In addition, Whitefish Wolverines received assists from Kieffer Helbing, who had two and Sam Summers, Ian Wiens, and Aleksei Garin, who contributed one each.

Lake Tahoe Blue forced Whitefish Wolverines goalie Hidestrand to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Whitefish Wolverines incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Cole Andersen recorded 41 saves for Lake Tahoe Blue. Lake Tahoe Blue incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
