Louisiana holds on for 3-2 win against Knoxville

The Knoxville Ice Bears tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Louisiana IceGators would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Shawn Skelly put Louisiana up 3-1 in the third period, but Knoxville pulled to within one on Francis Drolet's tally 19:18 into the third period.

The IceGators were sparked by Skelly, who tallied one goal. Skelly scored 15:21 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Louisiana. Adam Stuart picked up the assist.

Louisiana stifled the Ice Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Louisiana also got points from Jeremy Boyer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Bret Peppler also scored for Louisiana. Other players who recorded assists for Louisiana were Brian Berger, who had one and Matt Viola, who had two.

Knoxville also got a goal from Eric Satim as well. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Ben Power, who had two and Mark Corbett and Jason Price, who contributed one each.

Scott Diebold made 17 saves for the IceGators on 19 shots. Louisiana incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Braely Torris rejected 17 shots on goal for Knoxville. The Ice Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
