Huntsville blows out Fayetteville, 7-2

The Huntsville Havoc had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz.

Zack Dailey was all over the ice for Huntsville, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Dailey scored 6:54 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Huntsville. Stuart Stefan picked up the assist.

The Havoc outdid their season average for goals scored. Huntsville has scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The Havoc's offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 17.8 shots per game they average.

Huntsville also got points from Dave Williams, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Justin Cseter, who also registered one goal and one assist, Luke Greiner, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Ray Ortiz, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Justin Tateson, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Huntsville came via Jarred Mohr and Jordan Reed, who contributed one each.

Fayetteville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Josh McQuade, Corey Tamblyn and Chad Hohmann took 11 of the team's 21 shots.

The FireAntz were helped by Kyle McNeil, who registered one goal. McNeil scored 5:31 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Huntsville. Mike Montrose assisted on the tally.

Huntsville's Jesse Kallechy stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Havoc totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Kevin Murdock made 16 saves before being replaced by Andrew Flemming, who took the loss and made 18 saves. Fayetteville totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
