Mississippi RiverKings rolls over Huntsville, 7-2

Mississippi RiverKings had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc.

Mississippi RiverKings got the win thanks to a great game by Linden Bahm, who had two goals and one assist. Bahm scored the first of his two goals at 8:18 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Leo Thomas picked up the assist. Bahm's next tally made the score 7-1 Mississippi RiverKings with 19:15 left in the third period. Thomas assisted on the tally.

Mississippi RiverKings bested its season scoring average. This season, Mississippi RiverKings averages 2.9 goals per contest. Mississippi RiverKings put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.4 it averages per game.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Devin Mantha, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Matt Whitehead, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Andrew Randazzo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Mississippi RiverKings included Paul Ciarelli and Sean Jones, who each put in one. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Adam Courchaine, Ryan Marcuz, Mike Hayward, and Mark Corbett, who each chipped in one.

Huntsville's offense rang up 39 shots on Mississippi RiverKings' net.

The Havoc were led by Frank Schumacher, who dished out one assist.

Adam Courchaine made 37 saves for Mississippi RiverKings on 39 shots. Mississippi RiverKings totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Huntsville's starting goalie, Jesse Kallechy, made 19 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Kevin Genoe, who stopped 10 shots. The Havoc totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play.
