The Peoria Rivermen had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-2 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz. Peoria was paced by Robert Vanwynsberghe, who tallied one goal. Vanwynsberghe scored 15:27 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Peoria. Matt Summers picked up the assist. The Rivermen found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Peoria averages 3.3 goals per game. By firing 47 shots on goal, the Rivermen exceeded the 25.6 shots they average per game this year. Peoria also got points from Steve Morra, who also had two goals and one assist and Garrett Vermeersch, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Mike Gurtler also scored for Peoria. McQuade scored on the power play 14:07 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. A unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Ruwe had put Fayetteville on the power play. Matt Robertson assisted on the tally. Fayetteville additionally got points from Robertson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Fayetteville received assists from Mike Kavanagh and Chad Hohmann, who each chipped in one. Dustin Carlson rejected 27 shots on goal for Peoria. The Rivermen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jordan Tibbett recorded 38 saves for the FireAntz. Fayetteville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
