Flaherty nets hat trick, leads Pensacola to 4-1 win over Huntsville

Keegan Flaherty netted a hat trick to lead the Pensacola Ice Flyers over the Huntsville Havoc, 4-1.

Flaherty got on the scoresheet 12:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:28 into the second and at 9:13 into the third.

Pensacola's Max Strang was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Strang certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.23 entering the contest.

The 29 shots that the Ice Flyers put on net surpassed Pensacola's average of 25.3 shots per game this season.

Pensacola also got a goal from Brett Beebe as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Nick Lazorko, who had two and Jon Puskar and Nick McParland, who each chipped in one.

Huntsville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Stuart Stefan, Jacob Johnstone and Justin Cseter took 23 of the team's 36 shots.

In addition, Huntsville received assists from Joe Tolles, who had one.

The Ice Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kevin Genoe made 25 saves for the Havoc on 29 shots. Huntsville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
