Satim's big game bests Huntsville in 4-1 Knoxville win

Eric Satim had two goals and one assist to lead the Knoxville Ice Bears to a 4-1 victory over the Huntsville Havoc.

Satim found the back of the net 12:38 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Knoxville and again while short handed 53 seconds into the second to make the score 3-0 Knoxville.

Huntsville was stymied by Knoxville's netminder Bryan Hince, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. Hince certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.89 entering the contest.

The Ice Bears were often in penalty trouble, totaling four minors and six majors for 48 minutes in penalty time. Knoxville surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. With 25 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Bears exceeded the 19.0 shots they average per game this year.

Knoxville also had goals scored by Ben Schoeneberger and Francis Drolet, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Ryan Hill, who had one, Robbie Donahoe, who had two, and Ryan Salvis, who had four.

The Havoc's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled three minors and six majors for 76 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Huntsville had been spending in the box. The Havoc's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Knoxville power plays. Knoxville was unable to stop Huntsville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Havoc eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Huntsville was led by Frank Schumacher, who took two shots.

The Ice Bears ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Corey Fulton was ejected from the game. Jesse Kallechy made 21 saves for the Havoc on 25 shots. Huntsville registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For the Havoc, Corey Bellamy and Colin Hekle were ejected from the contest.
