A stellar performance between the pipes by Curtis Martinu helped the Knoxville Ice Bears defeat the Huntsville Havoc, 2-1. Knoxville was led by Eric Satim, who racked up one goal. Satim scored 11:58 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Knoxville. Jake Johnson picked up the assist. The 24 shots that the Ice Bears put on net surpassed Knoxville's average of 15.4 shots per game this season. Matthew Paton also scored for Knoxville. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Sy Nutkevitch, Ben Power, and Ryan Salvis, who each chipped in one. Huntsville put 27 shots on net during the contest, more than the 20.3 it averages per game. The Havoc were led by Bobby Barrett, who scored the team's only goal. Barrett scored 12:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jarred Mohr assisted on the tally. The Ice Bears' Martinu stopped 26 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Knoxville totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and three majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Kevin Genoe recorded 22 saves for Huntsville. The Havoc totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and three majors and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
