The Peoria Rivermen beat the Knoxville Ice Bears, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Peoria took over the lead for good with a goal by Garrett Vermeersch at 17:05 in the first period. A holding penalty on Francis Drolet had put the Rivermen on the power play. Alex Hudson assisted on the tally.Peoria was led by Dan Bremner, who had one goal. Bremner scored 19:23 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Peoria. Alec Hagaman provided the assist. Knoxville was unable to stop the Rivermen from sending pucks towards the net, and Peoria eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Jake Trask also scored for Peoria.
