The Peoria Rivermen's Steve Morra had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Knoxville Ice Bears. Morra found the back of the net 13:09 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Peoria and again while short handed 10:48 into the second to make the score 5-1 Peoria.Peoria stifled Knoxville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rivermen outdid their season average for goals scored. Peoria averages 3.3 goals per game. The Rivermen struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 19 penalty minutes for three opposing power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. With 49 shots on target during the contest, Peoria exceeded the 29.0 shots it averages per game this year. Peoria additionally got points from Dan Bremner, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Peoria also had goals scored by Christian Weidauer, Jake Trask, and Jason Cohen, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Cole Ruwe, Ben Oskroba, Josh Harris, and Mike Gurtler, who each chipped in one and Matt Summers and Alex Hudson, who contributed two each. Bryan Hince took the loss and made 20 saves before being replaced by Curtis Martinu who made 23 saves.
