Courchaine stymies Huntsville, Mississippi RiverKings wins 4-1

Mississippi RiverKings relied on the sparkling performance of Adam Courchaine in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Huntsville Havoc.

Mississippi RiverKings was sparked by Sean Jones, who had one goal. Jones scored 12:32 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Bryon Paulazzo picked up the assist.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Devin Mantha, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Paulazzo, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ryan Marcuz also scored for Mississippi RiverKings. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Reid Campbell, Joseph Holka, Mike Hayward, and Leo Thomas, who contributed one each.

Huntsville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Jacob Johnstone, Nick Wheeler and Matt Viola took 16 of the team's 29 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Stuart Stefan and Drew Akins, who each chipped in one.

Courchaine rejected 28 shots on goal for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Havoc's Kevin Genoe stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Huntsville totaled 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Havoc ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Aaron McGill was ejected from the game.
