Louisiana boosted by Zenzola's play in net, beats Huntsville 2-1

The Louisiana IceGators relied on the sparkling performance of Matt Zenzola in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Huntsville Havoc.

Louisiana was led by Benjamin Rubin, who tallied one goal. Rubin scored 7:02 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Louisiana. Chris Wilson provided the assist.

The IceGators were often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Louisiana surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. The IceGators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Louisiana put 21 shots on net during the contest, more than the 19.0 it averages per game.

Louisiana also got points from Tanner Burton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Louisiana received assists from August Aiken and Jake Hauswirth, who contributed one each.

Huntsville struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 21 penalty minutes for one opposing power play. By firing 46 shots on goal, the Havoc exceeded the 25.3 shots they average per game this year.

Huntsville was led by Luke Greiner, who scored the team's only goal. Greiner scored 17:45 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Curtis Megginson picked up the assist.

Matt Zenzola made 45 saves for the IceGators on 46 shots. Jesse Kallechy rejected 19 shots on goal for the Havoc.
