The Peoria Rivermen, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Knoxville Ice Bears and clinched a 6-4 victory.

Peoria led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Rivermen's Jake Trask scored on the power play at 17:55 in the second period to put Peoria up 5-2.

The Rivermen got the win behind a great game by Jordan Sims, who had one goal and two assists. Sims scored 3:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. Matt Summers picked up the assist.

Peoria surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Rivermen average 3.0 goals per game. By firing 42 shots on goal, Peoria exceeded the 28.8 shots it averages per game this year.

Peoria also got points from Josh Harris, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Alex Hudson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Peoria also got a goal from Jason Cohen as well. More assists for Peoria came via Steve Morra, Mike Gurtler, and Paul Arnott, who contributed one each and Nick Schneider and Garrett Vermeersch, who each chipped in two.

Knoxville's offense rang up 38 shots on the Rivermen's net.

The Ice Bears were led by Berkley Scott, who had two goals and two assists. Scott scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A hooking penalty on Schneider had put Knoxville on the power play. Ryan Salvis provided the assist. Scott's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Peoria with 1:43 left in the third period. The Ice Bears had gained a power play chance when Gurtler was whistled for roughing. Jarrett Rush picked up the assist. Knoxville additionally got points from Salvis, who also registered one goal and one assist. Peter Neal also scored for Knoxville. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Jake Johnson, who had two and Eric Satim and Josh Cousineau, who contributed one each.

Kyle Rank rejected 34 shots on goal for Peoria. The Rivermen incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Braely Torris made 36 saves for Knoxville on 41 shots. The Ice Bears totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. For Knoxville, Brett Valliquette was ejected from the game.
