The Pensacola Ice Flyers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Knoxville Ice Bears would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Knoxville made the score 4-2 on a goal by Francis Drolet at 8:01 in the third period, and Pensacola got as close as 4-3 when Jon Puskar scored 15:13 into the third period. Drolet had one goal and three assists to lead the Ice Bears. Knoxville was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The Ice Bears had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. The defensemen of Knoxville were also effective in the Ice Flyers' zone, and came away with two goals. Knoxville also got a goal from Robbie Donahoe as well. More assists for Knoxville came via Christian Weidauer, Peter Neal, and David Segal, who contributed one each. The 31 shots that Pensacola put on net surpassed the Ice Flyers' average of 22.4 shots per game this season. Pensacola was helped by Nick McParland, who registered one goal. McParland scored 4:48 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pensacola. Phil Tesoriero assisted on the tally. Pensacola additionally got points from Puskar, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brett Lutes also scored for Pensacola. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Justin Alonzo, Nick Lazorko, Brett Beebe, and Corey Banfield, who each chipped in one. Braely Torris made 28 saves for the Ice Bears on 31 shots. Knoxville registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Ice Bears ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Salvis was ejected from the game. The Ice Flyers' Andrew Flemming stopped 18 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Pensacola totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
